Introduction to this SectionNow that we have briefly talked about a star's spectral classification, let us look at the various types of stars over the range of that spectrum. First of all, these stars are not a class to themselves per se but rather a specific type name for a star that may have reached a certain stage in it's stellar life or a particular kind of star. For example, a Protostar is the name for a new born star while a Pulsar star is one having such a high rate of axial spin that it emits detectable (and audible) signals. There are many others as well and to review each simply click on the links at your left. This section on stars also includes audio as well as images. |
